Flea markets are a relatively new phenomenon in Dubai. However, they are growing in number and popularity as residents welcome the opportunity to shop away from the shopping malls, in relaxed outdoor surroundings.

Dubai Flea Market is a regular open air market held in Al Safa Park on the first Saturday of every month. It is held under the shade of the trees in the park and runs on into the warmer months. Every kind of item can be bought and sold here. Items which are too big to take down to the park can even be advertised on the Dubai Flea Market website for free.
During the summer months, the flea market moves to the Crown Plaza on Sheikh Zayed Road.
This flea market is very popular with buyers and sellers alike with as many as 3,750 visitors and 200 exhibitors. People are attracted to the pleasant surroundings, the family atmosphere, and the refreshments and kids entertainment that are available.
Covent Garden Market Dubai

Every Friday and Saturday, The Walk, in front of the Jumeirah Beach Residences, hosts an open-air market known as the Covent Garden Market Dubai. This was set up to provide local artists and entertainers with a venue to showcase their work. Over 50 stalls line this popular seafront avenue, selling a wide variety of goods including fine art, crafts, fashion, home ware, toys and gifts. Street entertainers, from magicians to classical string quartets, are on hand to entertain the shoppers.

Souq al Bastakiya is a weekly Flea Market held in the the Bastakiya, a restored historic area of Bur Dubai. It is held every Saturday during the cooler winter months from 10 am until sunset. It aims to provide artists and designers a place to sell anything from fine arts and photographs to jewelry and crafts. Even without the attraction of this flea market, the Bastakiya is worth a visit for its quiet pedestrianized streets, art galleries, museums and cafes.
Car Boot and Table Top Sales
Most of the international schools in Dubai hold a car boot or table top sale at least once a year. These are very popular with parents and visitors from outside. The larger sales are often announced on the local radio and in local newspapers.
