Electronics and Appliances
Electronics and appliances are mostly inexpensive in Sydney, thanks to strong trade relations with China and other Asian Pacific Region countries. Non-Asian brands are an exception. There are major electronics and appliance chain stores found in most shopping centres and districts. They all offer competitive prices and will often match or reduce their price if you find the same item elsewhere for less. Department stores also stock electronics and appliances but have a tendency to be a little more expensive. All new goods come with warranties.

Hardware Stores
DIY is very popular in Australia and as a consequence hardware stores do a very good trade, especially on the weekends. Chain hardware stalls have all but conquered independent operators who just can’t compete with their discount items and large range of stock. Their goods are inexpensive and their staff are knowledgeable and happily offer advice.
By far the largest and best hardware is Bunnings. There are several of these in Sydney and they have plants, hardware, loads of materials and can help with many DIY projects.
