Public Transport Guide
Chicago Transit Authority operates the public transportation system in the Chicago area, which encompasses the CTA buses network and the CTA “L” for “Elevated Train”. The “L” is the equivalent of the subway or metro in other parts of the world.
The public transportation in Chicago is rather safe and clean. It provides efficient coverage of Chicago and the suburbs and is practical at any time of the day. In fact, the “L” is only one of four systems in the US that offers 24-hour service. There is no major risk for a woman to take public transportations in Chicago.
