It is very easy to ride a bicycle in Chicago, especially along the lake shore. There are also bike trails all around the city. You can put your bike on CTA buses and trains for free.

Chicago Water Taxi operates on the Chicago River with four stops: Madison Street, Lasalle/Clark, Michigan Avenue, Chinatown. The ticket office is located at 400 North Michigan Avenue. Kiosks where you can buy tickets are located at the Madison Street dock and the Michigan Avenue dock. But be aware this is mainly for tourists. People do not typically use it to commute.
