Local Newspapers
Most local newspapers in Belgium are in either Flemish or French. Below is a list of the most popular newspapers in the country.
Het Laatste Nieuws – Flemish daily newspaper with the largest circulation in the country of around 290,000. It can be found at most newsstands and online at http://www.hln.be/
Het Niuewsblad – Another popular Flemish daily newspaper, Het Niuewsblad has a circulation of around 210,000. You can find it online at http://www.nieuwsblad.be/
Le Soir – A liberal daily, this newspaper is the most popular in French, and is considered a newspaper of record, asserting its professional newsgathering. Le Soir, along with other Francophone newspapers in Belgium, gained some notoriety by successfully suing Google for copyright infringement, resulting in Google removing all story links to these papers. It can be found online at http://www.lesoir.be/
La Libre Belgique – Considered locally to be more pro-Catholic, La Libre Belgique is the second most popular Francophone paper in Belgium. You can find it online at http://www.lalibre.be/
English Newspapers
There is really one English speaking daily newspaper of note published in Belgium.
The Bulletin – A weekly newspaper, The Bulletin is the most popular English newspaper in Belgium and can be found at newsstands around the city as well as online http://www.thebulletin.be/
International Papers
Many major English international newspapers can be found in Brussels. In this day-and-age, most newspapers are available online, as well, but for print copies to get the likes of The Times, USA Today, The New York Times etc you can go to most newsstands around la Grand Place/Groote Markt, Place De Brouckere, the European District and the Stock Exchange that will have the largest selections, and some hotels and other bookstands will have a selection as well.
