For an emergency, such as a crime that requires an immediate response or an incident in which you or another individual is in urgent danger, you can contact the police and other emergency services, such as Emergency Medical Services or the fire department over the telephone by dialing 112. When you dial this number, you will be connected to an operator, who will be able to respond to your specific need and will send the immediate assistance that you need. In all cases, the person who answers the phone will be able to understand English and should have the help that you need ready to send to you, in the case of a crime or medical or other emergency.
When it is not an emergency, the police can be contacted by telephone on their general line, at 0900-8844, from local telephones. From abroad, you should dial 003120 559 8844.
