Veterinaries in Barcelona
Vets in Barcelona almost all have at least a little English to their credit, so communication is not difficult. If you are unlucky enough to stumble across a clinic that has absolutely no English-speaking staff, rest easy: the next clinic is just around the corner.
Veterinary clinics are almost as prevalent as pharmacists and, as Spaniards really do love their animals dearly, use a similar green cross to identify themselves. The Spanish word ´veterinari´ is close enough to the English ´veterinary´ that you are not likely to become confused.
The vets listed below are chosen for their proximity to heavily-trafficked areas of Barcelona, their 24 hour emergency vet services, and, of course, their English capabilities.
Take note: Just as Spanish pharmacists tend to be as comprehensively trained as doctors, so too are the staff of many pet-food stores. They are often able to identify and accurately diagnose the illness of a dog or cat. If you suspect your pet may be sick, try talking to the local pet-food store before you make a vet appointment. You will probably be pleasantly surprised.
