  A government site, this should be your first stop for news of upcoming events and useful info on Barcelona and surrounds.
• Transport Metropolitans de Barcelona

  Official transportation website of Barcelona. The site provides very helpful information on the various public transport lines and even helps you plan your routes from start to finish.
• Barcelona City Website
  http://www.bcn.es/
  The official website of the city, that explains a number of procedures, touristic attractions and has excellent street maps. (Parts of the website are accessible in Spanish or Catalan only).

City Guides

• Barcelona Online

  A great general resource for what is happening in the city as well as deals on accommodation and holidays within Catalunya.
• Barcelona Style

  These guys publish a great coffee table book every year that is, as the name suggests, packed with Barcelona style. Fashion, architecture, art, music and festivals will be presented on the site – well worth a look if you like to indulge in a little Cool Hunting.
• Barcelona Tourism Website

  The official tourist website of the city that is extremely well-organized and current with its information on attractions and prices. It even has an on-line store!
• Barcelona Metropolitan

  Official website of the English-speaker’s magazine. Has current information new restaurants, events in town, great classifieds section and articles on living here as an expat.

Classifieds

• Loquo

  This should be your first stop for anything related to Classifieds. Jobs, apartments, and cars are the first things you will need and Loquo is heavily trafficked. There is an English version although most ads will be in Spanish.
• Barcelona Connect

  An excellent website for accessing classifieds and information on apartment rentals.

• Argus Car Hire
  http://www.arguscarhire.com/car-hire/spain.htmlThis, along with Pepe (listed below), is one of the best value car hire companies in Spain.
• Pepecar
  http://www.pepecar.com/ This is the link for the English version of the site, but the consistency is pretty limited. Worth persevering for the incredibly cheap deals you can pick up.

  This is where Barcelona´s major trade shows are held. A good place to keep tabs on if you are involved in local industry, or you are just looking for new design ideas for your house.

  Not a site devoted exclusively to Barcelona, but certainly useful to keep in the bookmarks. Free online translation between English and Spanish.
• Spanish Recipes

  If €10 per serving for paella in restaurants seems a bit steep (it is) then make your own at home. Some good ideas for authentic Mediterranean food can be found at this poorly designed but very useful site.
