Tax Advisors in Buenos Aires
Paying income taxes in Argentina is the responsibility of the employers, and because of this most tax accountants and professionals work solely, and in-house, with companies and employers. There are a few firms, however, that do help expats organize their tax information. See the list below for English-speaking firms:
Baker & McKenzie is a law firm with tax specialists such as Rufino Beccar Varela (rufino.beccar-varela@bakernet.com.ar) who specializes in tax planning and customs problems.
ARCA is a local firm who helps foreigners with visa requirements and provides other services, such as tax advice, for expats. They are a firm with all English-speaking staff.
The local tax authorities are perceived as some of the most corrupt in the world, according to Transparency International, a non-governmental organization that studies the political economic climates of different countries. Because of this, it is not recommended to utilize local tax authorities.
