Kitchen and Dining Equipment Guide
Aside from supermarkets and department stores, the best source of cutlery, crockery and other kitchen implements in Cape Town is a good home store. There are several local chains, which vary moderately in their pricing.
Stores
Mr. Price Home and @home
Mr. Price Home and @home stock similar mixes of home ornaments and decorations, cutlery, crockery and bedding. Mr. Price, as with its clothing store, pitches itself at the less wealthy consumer, whereas @home stocks designer products along the lines of Miele and LG, in addition to its own branded products. Use their store locators to find branches in your area.

Local Manufacturers
Carrol Boyes and her team of ‘functional artists’ work out of the Bo Kaap, and have made her characteristic clay-stile knives, forks and miscellaneous utensils world famous, winning her numerous international accolades. She has offices in Athens, Paris and New York, but still prefers to work from her original Cape Town headquarters. Carrol Boyes utensils have ridden the wave of her success to a higher price bracket, but are still quite reasonably priced.
