There are a wide range of local and international car hire companies in Dubai. Drivers must be over 21 years of age to rent a small car and over 25 years of age for medium or large cars. People from Europe, North America and many Asian countries can drive with a visit visa and their international driving license.
Monthly car rentals start at around AED 1,500 per month. Many expatriates rent when they first arrive in Dubai because it is not possible to buy a car without a residence visa and UAE driving license.
