Taking Care of Your Pet
Dogs over 5 months old are required to have current rabies vaccinations and must be microchipped and licensed. A dog license is valid for 3 years and the dog must have an updated rabies vaccination to renew the license. Dog owners must also advise the Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department of any change in ownership or any change in address within 5 days.
To get a license, take your dog to any of the following government-run Animal Management Centres:

All centres are open daily, including Sundays and public holidays. No appointment is necessary and the whole procedure takes about 15 minutes, after which a license will be issued to you immediately. The license fee is HK$80, which includes microchipping and vaccination for your dog. Licenses can also be obtained at authorized private veterinary clinics (http://vsbhk.org.hk/) and at the SPCA

Dog Parks
Dogs in Hong Kong can access the city’s many country parks but they are severely restricted within the city limits. Hong Kong Island used to be equipped with the Wanchai Dog Park which extremely popular with dog owners and walkers in the city, but this park was closed in January 2010 to make way for the Central-Wanchai bypass. A new dog park has now been created on North Point Pier on Kam Hong Street on the grounds of the former North Point Estate.
This park, though smaller than the Wanchai Dog Park, is equipped with stone walls and sand pools for the canines. The walking path at Bowen Road, in spite of being associated with deadly dog poisoning incidents, continues to be popular with dog owners and walkers. Victoria Park, located at the Peak, is another option. Another popular park is the park behind the Bel Air Phase One Development in Cyberport.

DB Dog Dayz
DB Dog Dayz offers a boarding service with a difference. All dogs live in the kennel owner’s home with him and his family throughout the boarding period. In order to use this service, your dog will need to be neutered and you will be required to take part in a test visit where you will temporarily leave your dog for up to one hour in order to assess how it behaves with other dogs.
