As an expat in Hong Kong it is quite likely that your company will appoint any of tax advisors to help you with the filing and submission of your tax return. However if you are not afforded such privileges, then the burden of correctly filing your taxes in a timely manner rests on your shoulders. Luckily the Inland Revenue Department offers much advice on its website as well as through dedicated hotlines. It also produces a guide to taxation in Hong Kong which can be downloaded from its website: http://www.ird.gov.hk/ which offers advice on how to complete your tax return, the deadlines, requirements and more.
