Most Indian workmen who are hired for odd jobs don’t speak English, rarely arrive when they’re supposed to, probably don’t have the correct tools or training, and may or may not get the job done correctly the first time. If you can fix something yourself, then do so. If not, try to have your maid or someone who can speak Hindi around when workmen come to your home.
