There are dozens of radio stations broadcasting in the Shanghai area. Three stand out, however. These are Love Radio (103.7 FM – talk and pop music), Shanghai Radio (792 AM – talk, news and sport) and East Radio (1296 AM – talk, news, sport and music). These feature predominantly Chinese language output punctuated with the occasional English language news or music program. However, with the advent of internet streaming, expats can still access live radio feeds from their favorite stations back home and most choose to do just that.

The Shanghai Media Group, part of the Shanghai Media & Entertainment Group conglomerate controls a fair number of radio stations in Shanghai. The radio stations broadcast local news, traffic, music (popular, classical, and light), and a variety of other programs. Live streaming is available if you go to their official website.
