The Chinese immigration law doesn’t have a specific visa for this purpose. You could try to get an “Alien Permanent Residence Permit in China”, known as the Chinese green card, but this permit is given only in very exceptional cases to people who have tight ties – or large investments – with the country and an outstanding resume. You could try to stay in the country with business (F) or tourist (L) visas, but this implies constant trips to Hong Kong. The best option is to enroll in any language course in an official university and get a student visa (X). All the details are in the “You want to study” section.
