Clothing Stores
While inexpensive clothing can be found in Singapore, items of high quality are often quite pricey. Western name brands are significantly marked up, and leather shoes of good quality are especially expensive – many expatriates choose to stock up on shoes while on vacation in their home countries. Tailoring can be an affordable alternative for nicer pieces and business or resort wear.
One can find fantastic clothing selection in the major department stores lining Orchard Road including Takashemiya, Isetan, Tangs, Robinsons at Centrepoint or Raffles City, and Metro at Paragon. See the ‘Shopping’ section for websites and addresses.

Designer shops along Orchard Road cater to the very well heeled and include all of the major international design houses.
The second floor of Holland Village offers small boutique after boutique offering nice clothing, mostly in expatriate sizes at reasonable prices.
Cheaper clothes can be found at Bugis Junction, Far East Plaza, Lucky Plaza, in local neighborhood malls, and at lower-end department store chains such as John Little. Sidewalk sales offer great deals but varying levels of quality.
Tailoring
Tailoring is fairly reasonable, and numerous tailors are available along Orchard Road, especially clustered at Far East Plaza and on the third floor of Holland Village. Some of the favorite tailors with expatriate clientele are as follows:

Shoes
Shoes can best be found at the major department stores including Tangs, Robinsons, Takashimaya, and Isetan. Raffles City also offers a number of good shoe outlets, though Western brands are often much higher in Singapore than they are in the US or Europe. Wisma Atria has a few good small shoe boutiques with trendy, mid-quality shoes on the basement level.
Queensway Shopping Centre is the local’s best choice for athletic shoe shopping. 70% of all retailers here sell shoes, and the rest sell sports accessories, equipment and apparel. Prices are very competitive and the shops carry recognized brands like Nike, Adidas and Converse. As there is no MRT nearby, taxi or car is the recommended form of transportation.
