Singapore’s department stores offer wide selections of clothing, shoes, and household goods. While many are clustered along Orchard Road and in larger malls like Raffles Place, Marina Square, and VivoCity, most of the large neighborhood shopping centers also contain at least one department store.

  • Isetan Singapore: Sells fashion items and household goods. Some stores have a supermarket. Located at in Shaw centre, Scotts and Wisma Atria in Orchard Road, also in Tampines and Katong, Tel: 6733 1111.

  • Mustafa Centre: An adventure in and of itself, this bustling 24-hr Little India department store sells a comprehensive range of brands and wide variety of items. 145 Syed Alwi Road, Off Serangoon Road, Singapore 207701, Tel: 6295 5855
  • OG: Very local department store selling cosmetics, fashion and home wear products. 60 Albert Street, #05-00, Albert Complex, Singapore 189969. Also at Orchard Point and Albert Complex, Tel: 6210 2222
  • Robinsons: One of the oldest and most popular department stores in Singapore offering a variety of shopping. They have just opened a huge flagship store at 260 Orchard Road, Tel: 6735 8838 and they also have stores at Raffles City, Tel: 6733 0888 and JEM, Tel:6887 8838
  • Takashimya: Sells almost everything from food to kitchenware, fashion and home ware. Large Japanese owned department store. 391 Orchard Road, Singapore 238873, Tel: 6738 1111.

Top Tips

01 A service of SingPost, vPost, allows users to set up overseas mailing addresses in the US, Europe, and Japan so that buyers can purchase from there.
02 When searching for rental properties find listings that are not co-broked. You will be charged commission on co-broked properties.
03 When searching for property look for any nearby spaces that may be built on. There is a lot of development taking place and building work is noisy.
04 Despite what many websites say, quarantine is no longer required for the majority of domestic animals arriving in Singapore.
