2010/2011 School Year
For 2010/2011, all Toronto private and public schools will be operating according to the following calendar.
The first day of the Toronto school year is September 7.
The last day of classes is June 29.
All schools take a seasonal holiday break in mid-December. For the upcoming school year, the last day of classes before the break will be December 20. Classes resume on January 2.
All schools in Toronto also take a mid-term break in March. This year, the last day of classes before the break is March 14. Classes will resume on March 19.
In addition to the seasonal and mid-term breaks, students will be off school on the following days:
Canadian Thanksgiving: October 11
Family Day: February 21
Good Friday: April 22
Easter Monday: April 25
Victoria Day: May 23
The Toronto District School Board also schedules what are referred to as Activity Days. These days are reserved for field trips, class assemblies, speakers, or programs such as “Take Your Child To Work Day”. Activity Days fall on the following dates in the upcoming school year:
Elementary Schools:
November 19
January 21
February 18
May 20
Secondary Schools:
November 19
February 18
2011/2012 School Year
