Hi everybody! My husband has been offered a job in Amsterdam so we are moving out in September this year. I can’t wait 🙂 ! We are both British. If we both become Dutch residents do we both lose the right to vote in UK elections? Do we gain the right to vote in Dutch general elections?
Thanks in advance for your help.

I’m pretty sure about this – don’t quote me though. Given that you kept your UK citizenship, you would retain your right to vote. And you would most likely have to be more than just residents in order to vote while in Dutch. FYI you’d most likely have to get dual citizenship. I would love to hear the definitive answer on this though?

You wouldn’t gain the right to vote in Dutch elections until you gained Dutch citizenship.
