The English department of the Internet site People’s Daily Online has issued a request for help to the expatriate community in China. They have recently launched a new English segment named Focus on China and they seek contributions from expatriate writers who have lived and worked in China.
The site hopes that the submission of articles from expatriates will allow them to create a content-rich information source that offers expatriates and those interested in China an opportunity to share perspectives, information and insights. They quote an old Chinese proverb: “Others’ stones (opinions) could be diverted to our own use,” asserting that they believe the opinions and contributions of expatriates will help China to learn from others and use such an opportunity to improve their country.
Any expatriates interested in contributing to the publication should send their contributions into the Focus on Chinaeditors through their email address: zhaochenyan@peopledaily.com.cn.
