The third annual “International Expat Expo” will be taking place on Saturday 26th September 2010 at the Hilton in Lyon from 11am to 6pm.
The event, which aims to allow expatriates living throughout the Lyon and Rhône-Alps regions to network and share experiences, will feature over 50 exhibitions covering life aspects such as business, culture, education and lifestyle.
Expats attending the event will have an opportunity to listen to a number of expert speakers including Lucy Wadam, author of The Secret Life of France, and sociologist Ruth van Reken, author of Third Culture Kids, who will talking about the impact that expat life can have on children.
The event has been organized by Lyon à la Carte Expats, a local expat organization that aims to unite expats and provide meaningful networking events.
Speaking to UK newspaper The Telegraph, one of the event organizers Quentin Levert, commented: “It is estimated that there are around 67,000 expats in the Lyon and Rhône-Alps region, who contribute a huge amount to the economic growth of the area.
“What we want to provide through both Lyon à la Carte Expats and our expo is a central place where people can get access to the information, social groups and services they need to settle in as expatriates.”
Parking at the event will be free of charge.
Tickets can be purchased online from Eventbrite at the cost of 8 Euro for adults and 5 Euro for students, children and other concessions. All tickets purchased in advance will be entered into a prize draw to win an iPad.
Any expats interested in learning more about the event can connect with the organizers on Twitter: @lyonalacarte or visit their website.
