Entertainment Options in Bangkok
Bangkok has an amazing nightlife and offers entertainment to suit all tastes. Most foreigners’ favorite places for an evening out are located conveniently within the center of the city in Sukhumvit, Silom or in the area between Central World and Siam Square. There’s also the famous backpacker area of Kao San road which is home to Bangkok’s art and underground music scene and is host to a vibrant nightlife scene that draws both foreigners and Thais.
With a diverse range from classical Thai dance to fast Techno beats, top restaurants, food stalls with local specialties and night markets, there is always something going on in Bangkok. Perhaps most unique to Bangkok, there is no end to the variety of a night out in a market.
Though the opening hours for bars and clubs in Bangkok are limited compared to other metro cities in the region, closing at 2am, Bangkok residents can still stay out late if they want. A night doesn’t have to end when the clubs close as there are still late night spots operating under the radar. It takes a bit of local knowledge to stay on top of which venues are open. Many street restaurants are open all night, which is a great way to end the evening.
Bangkok also offers English language movie experiences in many modern cinemas. The cinema experience in Bangkok usually rivals those in Western countries. Seats are big and comfortable and there’s no rushing to get good seats as they can be booked ahead easily.
Bangkok has two orchestras and a cultural center (Thailand Cultural Center) for those that have more classical tastes. Whatever you are looking for, you will not be disappointed.
