Unfortunately for many expats, there are no English babysitting agencies in Seoul. If you require an English speaking babysitter you will have to hire one independently. While it is much easier to find an English speaking nanny in Seoul, babysitters can be found as well. Most English speaking babysitters are found in the Yongsan-gu area, but some can travel. While English speaking babysitters charge different hourly wages, expect to pay between 10,000 and 20,000 won per hour.
While searching for a babysitter, expats may feel frustrated since there are not many options and family or friends who could help out are far, far away. Indeed, this is probably the number one complaint from expat parents – “We never get to go out!”
That said, persistence pays and finding a babysitter that you can trust is worth the effort.
