Private Schools in Vancouver
In BC, parents can choose to send their children to private or independent schools, for various reasons. These schools are not free; typically tuition fees are involved, ranging from $4,000 to $40,000 or more per school year. Sometimes parental involvement is required, depending on the type of school.
There may be a waiting list, and the admissions procedure is different than for the public school system. Private schools retain the right to refuse admission, whereas public schools typically must admit your child (unless the school chosen is in a different area or district and space is lacking).
